STATEMENT
PokéCity is an installation game centered around capturing Pokémon. Player can ride a stationary bike to freely explore a virtual city and capture various Pokémon. This project takes the idea of gym elliptical bikes and adding the concept of immersion. We provided a new reason for people to hit the gym and achieve their fitness goals.

This game is a student project, and it was collaborative effort between me and 2 other classmates. My primary responsibilities included project management, conceptual design, programming, UI / UX design, animations, and Arduino circuit design. The woodworking and assembly processes were handled by the other 2 classmates.

One noteworthy aspect of our design is that, in addition to using a still bicycle and Arduino as input devices, we also incorporated voice control as another input method. Furthermore, we utilized the depth camera from Kinect to detect the landing position and distance of the Poké Balls, allowing the program to determine whether the Poké Ball successfully hit the Pokémon.
